In her talk Katika K\u00fchnreich will speak about past and present  attempts of (digital) social control or \u201esocial management\u201d in China and  about political programs of and influences of China\u2019s Communist Party.  The Chinese government\u2019s current plans to construct social credit  systems and the inclusion of data collected by governmental agencies as  well as private sectors are often criticized by Western media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>However, the foundations of the \nprograms are rarely mentioned. By reflecting on the consequences of \nthese programs and their central players the talk will highlight the \nrole of a communist party as a leader in social regulation via \ndatafication and its relationship with Confucianism.
